I got a chance to review two of these before Amazon bought them out. What these two inkjets had in common was quality. The graphics are crisp; text is clear and, although small, doesn't lose pixels being output at a very good resolution. The Brother MFCL2700DW is a great all-in-one printer that can print, scan, copy, and fax, and comes with a fax modem, which is always a nice feature. It's not the prettiest piece of tech on the block, but that doesn't keep it from being a nice all-in-one printer.

The new Brother MFC-L2700DW all-in-one printer brings wireless convenience and printing flexibility to the small office and home. Print, copy, scan, and fax to a range of destinations with the print speed of up to 30 pages per minute.

The MFC-L2700DW is equipped with the engine that puts the MFC into the Brother family – the all-new MFC-L2700DW print engine, the company's first all-inkjet printer engine. It consists of a dedicated print head for each of the three ink colors; ink drops the size of a human hair before being deposited on the page. In addition to the print head, this powerful engine uses a patented piezo-electric printhead drive system, which can deliver print speeds of up to 30 pages per minute in addition to reducing mechanical noise. The patented printhead drive system generates less friction and reduces the noise for a smoother operation for improved productivity. The print engine's three channels of ink use micro-droplets that are deposited at the microscopic level for dramatic improvements in print quality. The MFC-L2700DW's print engine also has a separate piezo-electric printhead drive for each of the three ink colors to ensure the most accurate greyscale and accurate coloring.

The MFC-L2700DW offers a space-saving design that is ideal for smaller workspaces. The unit's front control panel has a 10.8" color LCD, which allows the user to quickly navigate the menus while maintaining eye contact with private data. An optional MFP (Mass Filer System) printer interface allows the user to control the Brother MFC-L2700DW and other Brother MFPs easily. A built-in memory card slot allows printing directly from a flash card with download speeds up to 299 kbps2.
